PREPARING NURSING GRADUATES WHO EXCEL HACC,CentralPennsylvania’sCommunity College, is working to meet the demand for healthcare professionals in Central Pennsylvania. In 2015-16, HACC graduated 325 students from the associate degree program in nursing. These students scored above the statewide average on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). An estimated 95 percent of the 2015-16 HACC nursing graduates already have jobs. More than 75 percent of the graduates indicate they will seek a four-year degree in the future, which may be attributed to HACC’s many articulation agreements with both private and public postsecondary institutions, as well as dual-admissions agreements with Millersville University and Eastern Mennonite University. Also during this time period, HACC graduated 68 students in the licensed practical nursing program with a pass rate of 92.65 percent on their NCLEX scores, compared to a statewide average of 83.9 percent. All of these graduates have jobs.
