Advancing Pennsylvania Through Community Colleges

PA COMMUNITY COLLEGES – Dual Enrollment and Credit Programs

Dual Enrollment: Allows high school students to take college courses and earn college credit while still in high school. The program can help students accelerate their degree completion, reduce college costs, and gain valuable experience in a college classroom environment. Research demonstrates that dual enrollment participants are more likely to enroll in college and complete their degrees following high school graduation.

Certificate Programs: Designed with local businesses and industry experts, certificate programs align with the evolving demands of today’s job market, leading to a quicker entry into the workforce. This is a great option for career changes, those seeking to upskill, or individuals looking for a more direct path to employment.

  • Did you know that HACC offers a dual enrollment program? This allows students to earn college credits – and even a degree or certificate – while they’re still in high school.

Students like Diwash have taken advantage of this opportunity. Plus, this spring, eight high school students received their HACC diploma, certificate of proficiency or associate degree before graduating from high school – #HACCyeah!

To learn more about HACC’s college in the high school and dual enrollment options, visit hacc.edu/Admissions/HowtoApply/high-school-students.

  • We are #HACCproud of our dual enrollment students!

Clariza Hernandez attends Philadelphia Virtual Academy and is a dual enrollment student at HACC. She’s found that the most rewarding aspect of the program is the course flexibility, which provided her with a more manageable and personalized academic experience. Through her HACC courses, she gained valuable insight into college-level expectations, which has helped her feel well-prepared and confident for the next stage of her academic journey. After HACC, Clariza plans to attend a four-year college to pursue a bachelor’s degree in communications.

  • Did you know that HACC offers non-credit certificate programs in various fields? Students like Tim, who earned a certificate in cardiology technology, have the opportunity to change careers, discover their strengths and build the skills needed to thrive in the workforce. To learn more about our certificate programs, please visit hacc.edu/ProgramsandCourses/NoncreditCourses.
